Drawn Out Patent Battles

The law enforcement industry is a tough industry. No one would dispute that. Dealing with criminals and those in corrections facilities comes as no easy task. There are companies out there in the technology industry who work every day to create software and technological advances to ease the burden, even just a little, on law enforcement. One of those companies is Securus Technologies.

Securus Technologies is headquartered in Dallas, Texas and they serve over 3,450 agencies all over North America. In addition to those agencies, they work with over 1.2 million inmates currently housed in corrections facilities. Securus has been in business for over three decades and continues to be a leader in software development.

Recently, Secures Technologies has come under fire in a press release written by Global Tel Link, or GTL. GTL is a competitor and both companies are involved in many of the same patents. Many of the claims state that Securus Technologies does not have the rights to use certain patents and they need to stop immediately. Another claim goes on to say that Securus is more than willing sue all of their competitors.

Securus Technologies did not take all of these allegations sitting down.

This fight seems to be far from over and it is still uncertain how it will all play out in the end. Patent lawsuits can take years to resolve so both companies are in this for the long haul.

The Amazing Honesty and Steadfastness of Securus Technologies

The inmate communication industry has one that has had a great deal of scrutiny lately. There have been companies that have been treating individuals as though they are nothing more than a mere dollar sign. Industry leaders Securus find this to be a devastating turn of events as they have a great deal of passion for those in this industry in which they help on a daily basis. Global Tel Link, one of the main competitors of Securus, has recently been called out by leaders at Securus for their wrong doings. Global Tel Link has been caught in the act of adding time onto inmate calls and sometimes even double charging phone users for no given reason.

I believe, after watching videos of inmate video calls on the Securus Vimeo Page, that the services that Securus Technologies are providing have been helping thousands if not millions of families and friends connect to their loved ones in prison. After reviewing many of the different inmate communication companies, I have found Securus to be among the best if not the best solutions for inmate communications around the world. Securus has employed over 1,000 employees due to the growth of their company. With their services being used in over 2,600 different correctional facilities, it is easy to say that the future of Securus Technologies is a very bright one indeed.
